Councillor Chris Harris who is also running against Clover Moore to be the Sydney MP has announced he will not seek a second term as councilor when his term expires. In Queensland, any Councillor must resign from Council the day they are pre selected to run as a state candidate as it is acknowledged the two jobs can be in conflict and no person could have time to perform both effectively. |

TheE City of Sydney's finance committee will today consider approving a list of capital works projects "the size of a telephone book", says the council's chief executive, Monica Barone.
Cr Mallard said he opposed that spending strategy.
